We went at the end of June for a long weekend to Milton of Fonab Caravan Site at Pitlochry Perthshire.

We had pre booked a non-awning pitch but changed our minds at the last minute for an awning pitch. The staff were excellent in helping us gain an awning pitch.  The site is well laid out with a number of statics in one part of the site as you enter the site.  The main tourer area is down the road and across a wee bridge. There are some pitches with excellent views down the Strath, the others are inside the site.

Awning pitches are quite close together with room enough for the caravan & awning but none to park the car beside the unit......except on one pitch.

Toilets are spotless and up to CC standards. Rubbish is emptied every morning.

If you're coming from the south and going north on the A9, ignore the first sign for Pitlochry. This will take you into the lower part of the town and is not as easy to negotiate as the second route. Carry on just past the first turn off on the left and about .5 mile north you'll see a sign for Pitlochry on your right. Take this exit and simply follow the road down - straight into the site! Easy!:O)

There are 79 touring pitches - there are 75 tent pitches.

Bikes can be hired in the town (about a ten minute walk from the site) and there is fishing nearby.

From the town, most parts of Perthshire are accessible, including, Aberfoyle & Aberfeldy. The Pass of Killiekrankie is about a twenty minute drive north, Loch Tummel is close by, as is the Queen's View on Loch Tay. I didn't rate the Café at the Queen's View - personal opinion.

Pitlochry itself is one of the most popular visitor sites in Scotland and once you visit you'll see exactly why. Two Distilleries, a salmon leap, shops, pubs, restaurants, cafes........did I mention shops?? :O)

The site is open March through to October. I would strongly recommend booking at this site as it becomes very busy.

It is a site I would wholeheartedly recommend.

These are some sites my friends and I have visited over the years and either like or dislike

These are not adverts for sites you cannot book them via this website

You can, however, use the links provided or telephone the sites direct

You may not like these caravan sites as everyone's personal preferences are not the same. So please check them out yourself and don’t just take our word for it for them
